About the Farmer
The factory was under Ngiriama co-operative society which was reorganised to form Rungeto co-operative society in 1997.
The area is very fertile for agricultural production and therefore was very viable for the factory, which was constructed and opened for processing in 1995. The peaks of snow-capped famous Mt. Kenya are very visible and it gives the area good scenery.
Kirinyaga, Kenya, is renowned for producing top-quality specialty coffee, thanks to its unique environment. Located on the slopes of Mount Kenya, the region features fertile volcanic soils, consistent rainfall, and a temperate climate, all of which create ideal conditions for coffee growing. The high altitude, between 1,500 and 1,900 meters, allows coffee cherries to mature slowly, resulting in beans with vibrant acidity and rich flavors.
