About the Farmer

Njiru has outfitted his small factory with disc pulper, and several fermentation tanks and washing channels. after pulping, fermenting and washing the coffee the parchment is dried on raised beds allowing for air circulation around the drying coffee.

Traditionally the best coffees in Kenya are from cooperatives located in the mount of Kenya region, being close to the equator with warm, sunny conditions throughout the year, the region has excellent coffee growing climate with an average rainfall of 1000 mm per year in two rainy seasons.
The volcanic soil is rich in nutrients which provide a unique taste and aroma. warm days and cold nights create conditions necessary for the exceptional acidity and body Kenyan Coffee is known for. Rurima is a private estate located in Embu country, which has been growing coffee since 1963. Enters the Kenyan cities route that produces specialty coffees with a unique profile.
