About the Origin
Pitalito, located in the Laboyos Valley in southern Colombia, is the largest coffee-producing region in Huila. With farms ranging from 1,340 to 1,800 masl and averaging 2.2 hectares, over 4,800 smallholder farmers contribute to this origin. The area is known for its strong coffee culture and high-quality output. SKN, a key partner in the region, has been instrumental in improving productivity and quality through long-term collaborations with local producers.
This coffee is of the Caturra variety, which is preferred locally for its cup consistency over Castillo. It's fully washed and sundried, resulting in a clean, well-balanced profile. Graded as Excelso, it reflects both the high-altitude terroir and the meticulous farm practices supported by SKN’s programs.
