The Tolima department is defined by its rugged, high-altitude mountains and mineral-rich volcanic soil. Planadas, in particular, has emerged as a powerhouse for award-winning coffees, consistently placing in the prestigious Cup of Excellence.

The region’s "fresh weather"—characterized by a stable 15–27°C temperature range—provides the perfect environment for slow cherry maturation. This specific microlot is a collective effort from 175 coffee-farming families who have transformed the local landscape into a hub for technical excellence and natural processing.

About the Coffee

This coffee is a 100% Caturra, a natural mutation of Red Bourbon known for its vibrant quality. While many Colombian producers stick to washed methods, these farmers have been pioneers of the natural process since 2019.

The "El Indio" profile is achieved through meticulous drying management:

Meticulous Sun-Drying: The finest cherries are spread across raised beds and concrete patios.
Precision Monitoring: To ensure a clean cup without over-fermentation, the drying cherries are inspected and turned four times daily by a dedicated quality control team.
Technical Mastery: Today, these farming families have mastered the craft to the point where 80% of their annual harvest is now successfully processed as high-scoring naturals.
