Subscription

How does the coffee subscription work?

You choose a style, how much coffee you want and how often you want it. Every time you're charged, your box is packed from our freshest roast and shipped within 24–48 hours — there's no waiting for a fixed date in the month.

You pick:

  • Style — Classics, Exotics or Decaf
  • Roast type — espresso, filter, or half and half
  • Grind — whole bean, or ground for your brewing method
  • How much — 1, 2, 4 or 6 bags of 250g
  • How often — every week, every 2 weeks or every month

Every box carries a card telling you why we chose each coffee, plus a 35g surprise sample.

What's the difference between Classics, Exotics and Decaf?
  • Classics — round, comforting flavour profiles. Coffees made for your everyday cup.
  • Exotics — out of the ordinary, special flavour profiles. Our higher-end specialty lots, for the curious.
  • Decaf — full flavour, no caffeine. Always whichever decaf we're roasting at the moment.

Our roasters choose what goes in. The lineup changes as coffees come and go at the roastery, so what you see on the subscription page is always what's current.

How much does it cost?

The price is per delivery, and the more bags you take, the less each one costs. Shipping is included across Europe.

Bags Classics Exotics Decaf
1 × 250g 15,90€ 17,90€ 17,90€
2 × 250g 21,90€ 24,90€ 24,90€
4 × 250g 35,90€ 43,90€ 43,90€
6 × 250g 49,90€ 59,90€ 59,90€

Weekly, fortnightly and monthly all cost the same per delivery, so changing your rhythm later never costs you anything.

When does my first box arrive?

Your box is packed from our freshest roast and shipped within 24–48 hours of subscribing. In mainland Portugal that usually means you're brewing it a couple of days after you signed up.

How many different coffees do I get in a box?

It depends on the style and the size:

  • Classics — one coffee across your bags. Half and half gives you the classic espresso and the classic filter, split evenly.
  • Exotics — two different coffees, split evenly (6 bags means 3 and 3). Half and half spreads across all four exotic coffees in the lineup.
  • Decaf — the current decaf, which works for both espresso and filter.
  • A single bag is always one coffee.
Can I choose exactly which coffee I get?

Not by name — that's rather the point of a subscription: our roasters choose, and you get what's tasting best at the roastery in the style you picked. You can always see the current lineup on the subscription page before your next charge.

If there's a specific coffee you love, you can order it from the shop any time.

Can I pause, skip or cancel?

Any time, in two clicks, from your account — no emails, no notice period, no questions. Log in, open Subscription, and you'll find everything there: change style, change grind, change how often, skip a delivery, pause, or cancel.

You can also update your address and payment details in the same place.

How do I change how much coffee I get?

Switch to a different plan size — 1, 2, 4 or 6 bags — in the subscription area of your account. The quantity is part of the plan you're on, so changing the plan is how you change the amount.

If you can't find it, write to support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com and we'll change it for you.

Is shipping really free on a subscription?

Across Europe, yes — every subscription delivery ships free, whatever the size of the box. Outside Europe a shipping charge applies and it's shown at checkout.

How fresh is the coffee?

We roast several times a week and always pack your box from the freshest roast available, then ship it within 24–48 hours. Coffee is at its best in the weeks after roasting, which is exactly the window you'll get it in.

I've been a subscriber for a while — what changed?

We replaced the monthly box with this one. The differences that matter to you:

  • Your coffee no longer waits for the first Wednesday of the month — it's packed and shipped as soon as you're charged.
  • Your charge date didn't move, and neither did your address or payment method.
  • Your price is the same or lower than it was.
  • You can now change style, rhythm and grind yourself, instead of emailing us.

If you paid for a block of boxes up front, nothing about that changes: every box you paid for still comes to you, and we simply switched off the renewal at the end. If anything about your plan looks wrong, write to support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com and we'll put it right.

Can I give a subscription as a gift?

Not as a gift subscription, no. What works well instead is a gift card, or a one-off order of the coffees you'd like them to try — both are in the shop.

Orders & payment

When does my order ship?

Orders placed before 15:00 (GMT) on a working day are usually handed to the courier the same day. After 15:00, they go out the next working day.

We ship Monday to Thursday. We deliberately don't ship on Fridays — a parcel posted on a Friday sits in a warehouse all weekend, in conditions we can't control, and the coffee is better for not doing that.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes, as long as it hasn't shipped yet. Write to support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com with your order number as soon as you can and we'll stop it if it's still with us.

If it has already gone out, you can simply refuse the delivery — it comes back to us and we process the cancellation when it arrives. Either way it costs you nothing.

Can I get an invoice with my NIF (tax number)?

Yes — but the NIF has to be entered at checkout, in the field provided. Every order gets a proper invoice, and the NIF is printed on it only if it was on the order.

Adding a NIF to an invoice that has already been issued isn't always possible, so if you need it, put it in before you pay. If you forgot, write to us straight away and we'll see what can be done.

How can I pay?

All the payment methods shown at checkout are available to you — card, MB WAY, Multibanco reference and the digital wallets your device supports. Prices on the site include VAT.

If you pay by Multibanco reference, the order is only confirmed once the reference is paid.

Can I pick my order up in one of your cafés?

Where store pickup is offered, you'll see it as an option at checkout. Choose it and we'll let you know by email when the order is ready to collect — please wait for that email before coming, so you don't make the trip for nothing.

Shipping & delivery

How much is shipping?

Shipping is charged by the weight of the parcel and where it's going, so there is no single flat rate. The exact amount appears at checkout as soon as you enter your address — nothing is added afterwards.

We're in Lisbon, so the further your order travels, the more it costs to send.

When is shipping free?

Shipping is free once your order reaches these amounts:

  • Portugal (mainland) — orders over 30€
  • Portugal (Azores & Madeira) — orders over 60€
  • Spain (mainland) — orders over 55€
  • Most of Europe — orders over 80€

Shipping is always charged to the Spanish islands, to a few European destinations where courier costs are far higher (among them Cyprus, Malta, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Greece and the Baltic and Balkan countries), and to the rest of the world. Your cart shows the real amount before you pay.

How long does delivery take?

Counting from dispatch, on business days:

  • Portugal (mainland) — 1 to 2 days
  • Portugal (Azores & Madeira) — 3 to 5 days
  • Spain — 2 to 3 days
  • Europe — 3 to 5 days
  • Rest of the world — 2 to 7 days

These are estimates from the courier, not promises we can enforce — public holidays, weather and busy periods stretch them. A delay in transit doesn't entitle you to compensation, but it does entitle you to us chasing it: write to us and we will.

Which courier do you use?

DPD for every order inside Europe, and DHL Express for orders outside Europe. You get a tracking link by email the moment your parcel is handed over.

Where is my parcel?

The dispatch email carries your tracking link — that's the same information we have. If the tracking hasn't moved for a couple of working days, or it says something you don't understand, send us your order number and we'll take it up with the courier directly.

I wasn't home when the courier came. What happens now?

By default the parcel goes to a nearby parcel shop and the courier emails you which one, and how long they'll hold it. That email comes from the courier, so check your spam folder if you can't find it.

If you were home all day and nobody rang, tell us — we'll report it and ask for a second attempt. We can't promise a third one.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Enter your address at checkout and you'll see the options and the cost for your country. Orders beyond Europe travel with DHL Express.

Outside the EU, customs duties or import taxes may be charged on arrival by your own country. They are not included in what you pay us and we have no way of estimating them.

My order arrived damaged.

Send us a photo of the parcel and of what's inside, with your order number, and we'll replace it or refund it. Don't post anything back before you hear from us — we'll arrange whatever is needed.

Returns & refunds

Can I return my order?

Yes. You have 7 calendar days from receiving the order to return it, provided the products haven't been used and the packaging is unaltered and undamaged. Packaging you opened carefully doesn't count as damaged.

Faulty products, or products that aren't what you ordered, can also be returned within 7 days of receipt — there we refund the price and the shipping. None of this affects your statutory rights.

What does a return cost me?

Nothing. Returns are free — write to support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com, we schedule a collection at a time that suits you and the courier picks the parcel up.

When do I get my money back?

Once the returned coffee reaches us and passes a quick check, the refund goes back to the payment method you used, and takes 5 to 10 business days to appear depending on your bank. If you'd rather have a voucher for the same value, just say so.

If you paid by Multibanco reference, we'll need your IBAN to send the money back — support will ask for it when the return starts.

I don't like the coffee I was sent. What now?

Tell us — honestly, it helps us more than it costs us. If a bag isn't right for you, write to support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com and describe what you didn't get on with, and we'll either suggest something that suits you better or sort the order out.

An unopened bag within 7 days is a straightforward return. An opened one isn't returnable, but we'd still like to know.

Can I return something I was given as a gift?

Not directly, for now — a return has to be started by whoever bought it, since the refund goes back to their payment method. Ask them to write to us and we'll take it from there.

Our coffee

Which coffee should I choose?

If you like a comforting cup — chocolate, nuts, caramel — start with our classic profiles. If you'd rather be surprised, look at the fruity and floral single origins.

Not sure? Take the coffee quiz: a handful of questions about how you brew and what you enjoy, and it points you at the right bags. Or write to us and describe your last good cup — that's usually enough to go on.

Whole bean or ground?

Whole bean, if you have a grinder — coffee starts losing its aromatics within minutes of grinding, and nothing you do afterwards brings them back.

If you don't have one, tell us your brewing method when you order and we'll grind for it: espresso, moka pot, Aeropress, V60, Chemex, Moccamaster, French press or cold brew.

How should I store my coffee?

Sealed, cool, dry and out of direct light — a cupboard is perfect. Don't keep it in the fridge or the freezer: coffee picks up moisture and the smells around it.

Buy what you'll drink in a few weeks rather than stocking up, and keep the bag closed between brews.

How do I brew it properly?

We wrote a guide for each method — dose, grind, water, time and the things that usually go wrong — for V60, Chemex, Aeropress, moka pot, French press, espresso and cold brew.

Is the coffee freshly roasted?

We roast several times a week at our roastery in Terrugem, and orders are packed from the freshest roast available, then shipped within 24–48 hours. Every bag carries its own batch details.

Do you have decaf?

Always — there's a decaf in the shop at all times, and a decaf subscription if you want it regularly. The details of the specific coffee and how it was decaffeinated are on its product page.

Where can I taste your coffee?

In our cafés in Lisbon, Cascais and at the roastery in Sintra. The full list, with addresses and opening hours, is on Find a store.

Account, wholesale & contact

I can't log into my account.

Use the email address your order confirmations arrive at — accounts and subscriptions are tied to that address, and a different one won't show your history. Request a new login link from the account page rather than guessing the password.

Still stuck? Write to support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com from the address you think it is and we'll sort it out.

I have a café, restaurant, hotel or office. Can I buy wholesale?

Yes — we supply coffee, equipment and barista training, and we can build a profile for your business. Tell us what you're doing and what you need at support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com, or fill in the form on our contact page, and someone from the wholesale team will come back to you.

Can you roast coffee under our own brand?

We do private label and bespoke blends for businesses. Write to support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com with what you have in mind — volumes, profile, packaging — and we'll take it from there.

How do I reach a human?

One address for everything: support@fabricacoffeeroasters.com. Orders, subscriptions, returns, wholesale, or a question about a coffee — it all arrives in the same place and gets answered by us.

You can also call +351 913 550 000, Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00.
